2008 Alliance Elections
One of the most important components of the Summit takes place the final morning when we elect our board members.
This year, five qualified candidates are being nominated for the 2009 Board of Directors Election. In order to be qualified, a candidate must be 21 years or older and a member of the Alliance in good standing for at least one year and have written support from their employer. There are five positions available on the Board. Please click HERE for the candidates' bios.
Please make sure if you have a write-in candidate that the candidate must be a paid member in good standing of the Recycling Alliance of Texas for one year, is agreeable to the nomination and has a letter of endorsement from current supervisor/employer acknowledging their support of your commitment to the Alliance board if elected. Information about membership is available from the Alliance Office, 512.852.4379. Click HERE for the ballot.
Ballots may be sent to Richard Abramowitz, Chair of the Nominations Committee either by secure fax (713-286-7521), e-mail (

Our Mission
The mission of the Recycling Alliance of Texas is to promote and enhance recycling and diversion activities in the State of Texas. We will accomplish this by fostering communication and the exchange of information regarding recycling among professionals, organizations, governmental entities, and individuals; by complementing and coordinating recycling industry initiatives; and by acting as a clearinghouse of recycling resources.
Working with Texans to Preserve Texas
Whether you’re a person heading up the environmental group for your business, or you’re an individual concerned about the effects of solid waste on nature, your voice can be heard when you join us.
At the Recycling Alliance of Texas, we’re working with others on local, state and national levels to reduce, reuse, and recycle. That is what we’re talking about when we discuss “closing the loop” - completing the full circle of the recycling effort. So we’re uniting those who share our goal of sustaining the Texas environment. But we need your help — a larger voice means more input into the development of legislation, regulations and policy decisions.
More than a Strong Voice
We provide technical education pertaining to recycling. We deliver information to the public about selected recycling issues. And we offer programs that encourage recycling markets as well as economic development. So join the Alliance and together we’ll expand current recycling programs that reduce waste, conserve energy and protect our natural Texas environment for generations to come. Go ahead, become an ally of the Recycling Alliance of Texas today.
