2008 Alliance Elections

One of the most important components of the Summit takes place the final morning when we elect our board members. 

This year, five qualified candidates are being nominated for the 2009 Board of Directors Election. In order to be qualified, a candidate must be 21 years or older and a member of the Alliance in good standing for at least one year and have written support from their employer. Please make sure if you have a write-in candidate that the candidate must be a paid member in good standing of the Recycling Alliance of Texas for one year, is agreeable to the nomination and has a letter of endorsement from current supervisor/employer acknowledging their support of your commitment to the Alliance board if elected.  Information about membership is available from the Alliance Office, 512.852.4379.  Click HERE for the ballot.

Ballots may be sent to Richard Abramowitz, Chair of the Nominations Committee either by secure fax (713-286-7521), e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. On-site voting will take place at the Texas Recycling Summit Registration Desk between 8am and 5pm on Monday August 18th, and Tuesday August 19th. The results will be announced at the Alliance Annual Membership Meeting, August 20th.

Our Mission

The mission of the Recycling Alliance of Texas is to promote and enhance recycling and diversion activities in the State of Texas. We will accomplish this by fostering communication and the exchange of information regarding recycling among professionals, organizations, governmental entities, and individuals; by complementing and coordinating recycling industry initiatives; and by acting as a clearinghouse of recycling resources.
